All Nighter Week!

It's been a little slow around here, but things have been flowing in!

So many things to update on!

Tonight there are a whack of shows, Aimee Qiu at The Gallery, Wilkosz and Way at Art Central, R Showroom also at Art Central and Shout Out Out Out Out at The Warehouse!

It's been a busy and challenging week of all night studying but i'm taking a break today from all the madness that is called post secondary school life!

How was the week for you guys?

I have major updates coming up including our weekly Project Runway recap and designer spotlight. What a crazy episode it was this week, stay tuned for more on what Jeff had to say about the whole Project Runway experience and who he is as a designer.

The CF team are out and about and will surely have much to update you on next week.

I'm still yet to talk about ACAD's Art Awareness that recently happened and Randy Gibson is providing us with some super skilled photos.

There are a couple things you should know first though:

Jessica's dress is up at a Winners near you and I cannot tell you how super cool the Off The Runway sales are at the always abundant discount store. Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent are some examples of some of the labels that are a part of the Winners Off The Runway Collection and i'm telling you now you will not be disappointed!

Henry is having a super cool relaxed evening tomorrow filled with deals like you wouldn't believe! Check them out tomorrow evening for some good tunes from DJ Dan Solo and great gift card paybacks!

Everything at Giant 45 is now 50 - 90% off!! You just gotta love moving sales!!!!!

Hope you guys are keeping warm with this insane up and down spring time/winter time fluctuations!

The Facebook event for their closing down sale says "it was the wrong time to open a new business." It is sad to hear the status of the economy is affecting businesses to the extent of closure.

Model Land

I've been doing some work for Klass Model Management and here is the first comp card made with my photos. They look pretty cool! Jesse was really easy to shoot and very comfortable with the camera. I hope to see him in publications soon and there is word on the street that he may just have been scooped up by one of Canada's leading agencies. We'll just have to keep an eye out for him.

Brian P
James P
James P with I Model was featured as a One's 2 Watch model this month as well as Brian P also with I Model. The 2 had some wicked test shots. Look out for these 2, big things are coming.

Chad White has been a busy guy this year, he is currently in a really beautiful editorial for Wounded Magazine, he also just recently did an interview with Where The Lights End which gives some insight to his life now and the things he loves to do. He seems rather humble and just totally in love with his profession and eager to keep learning. When Chad retires from the industry, look out for him in sexy fireman gear as that is what he hopes to go into after his modeling career is done, which isn't any time soon. If this happens however he's going to be one busy man putting fires out for women set  alight by his full on sex appeal. He also talks about dealing with being naked half the time for his shoots, it's interesting to read such interviews, models are human too!!

Heather Marks is still going strong. Every year I think her look evolves to a higher level. She's on the Black Magazine cover this month! Loving the look!

I've been waiting for more test shots of Ato, the modeling world has been taken over by several black male models, Salieu and Dominique with Red have been killing it lately, they seem to be in every magazine, on every website and the range to which they are featured is amazing. For black male models things seem to be picking up. Ato just did some great test shots for Mode, another one that I think should be watched closely. I'm hoping he gets as much work as possible, now is the time I think for modelling agencies in the city to promote their models of colour! Good job Ato, we're rooting for you.

Obama.

Now Politics is really not my thing and i'm probably one of the few that didn't watch the elections or his acceptance speech or keep up with all the media bashing and so on but the amount of Facebook satuses that are all O Yes We Can-ing is amazing.
This is indeed a change in history for the United States of America, history books will be rewritten to include this man's progress. It's one for the black world and one for the corporate world and the many people who have spent all their lives looking for change in a country that has been thirsty for some kind of hope, it's one for what Rosa sat for, Martin stood for and it's one for the American Dream.

Some pretty funny Facebook stat- ii(?) from some Facebook peeps:

Erika says "Is racism over?" Steven Colbert

Ram says yes we can? I think we just did!

Liam says black house!!!

Sheena says thanks the Republicans for not cheating...again.

Go Obama.
